Here’s how to use the Shopmium app to try new products for FREE!
We all love a bit of free right? And when it means that you spend less time scouring for coupons and saving yourself a bit of dosh, I’m all for it.
I’ve had a bit of a bumpy road with these new-fangled shopping apps, so when I discovered Shopmium through Emma Drew’s video, I knew I had to give it a try.
How many times have you watched Extreme Couponing and thought, “I haven’t got time for that faff!” and yet, you still dream of getting those products for free or nearly free right?
With the Shopmium app, you sign up and are able to try products you’re interested in near you for FREE or less cost than buying them outright.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Once you sign up for the app, you can browse the offers available.
I was interested in quite a few offers but some were not available in my area because I don’t have a Waitrose near me or I didn’t need the products like Baby Food.
In the end, I chose 2 to get 3 fruit juices on offer at £1.80 each with a cashback of £1.00 to try them out.
I chose Crafted Fruit Drink’s Orange and Mango:
So as you can see, the drinks were retailed at £1.80 each which in total was £5.40.
BUY THE ITEMS
The next stage of the process is you find your chosen items in the store, and buy them.
I had to go a bit out of my way to a Sainsbury’s that was sort of on the way back from Asda, as these items were only available in Sainsbury’s.
The app shows you a map of the stores near you where the item is available, which I sort of consulted and then realised, one of the other items I was looking for, was not available at that store.
All offers are time sensitive, so if you want an item, you need to buy it quickly in order to not miss out.
SCAN AND RECEIPT
After you’ve bought the item, you have to scan it to see if it matches the offer (do this whilst in store) and it will tell you if the item is redeemable.
Secondly, you buy the item (yes, it’s not free immediately!) and then take a picture of the receipt and upload it to the app.
You can use the same receipt for multiple items since I bought the 3 items from the same store, I was able to do so.
Once you’ve uploaded your receipt, they will check it and approve it.
If there’s a problem, like a store name is not visible, then they will let you know and you can try again before the offer is up.
Payment is made via BACS or Paypal. I chose Paypal for payment, and once my payment was approved, it was available the next day!
After you get the cashback, you will be asked to answer a few questions about the product and do a review of how you liked it.
I did it in 2 minutes for all 3 drinks!
Would I recommend this app?
YES! I think this is a great way to try out new products for low cost or FREE even though at this time, I didn’t get a free item, but £3.00 back from my shop is still more than welcome.
If you would like to try the app, and help me out with a kickback for referring, then you can download it from the App Store or Google Play and use the code 7v6nu which can be input after you register.
